BREAKING: Governor Lee announced he is signing an executive order that will allow groups of up to 50 for gatherings. Previously that number was 10.

This order addresses social gatherings such as festivals, fairs, parades, large parties, picnics, youth sporting events, and overnight summer camps. Guidelines for these under the Tennessee Pledge were not immediately released.

As with past executive orders, the new order applies to 89 of the state's 95 counties. Davidson, Hamilton, Knox, Madison, Shelby, and Sullivan have their own independent county health departments, and may continue to follow individual, county-specific plans created in consultation with State and local health departments.

UPDATED: Knox County statement on local sports and the coronavirus

After again meeting with Knox County public health officials and along with much consideration, Knox County Parks and Recreation has decided to postpone all sporting activities through April 6, putting us in sync with Knox County Schools.

This includes, but is not limited to: youth and adult sports; any organized sporting activity on all Knox County property; and all third-party tournaments.

We value the safety of our athletes, their families and our community. Knox County Parks and Recreation will continue monitoring the ever-changing situation and update you as quickly as possible.

Additionally, we encourage those in high risk groups to avoid crowds. For more information, please visit the Knox County Health Department’s website about coronavirus.
